104 Bathurst Street Foyer

Transforming a foyer into an inviting and timeless space

The situation

International House is home to many small and medium businesses. Located on Bathurst Street in the Sydney CBD the previous foyer was uninspiring.

The solution

We worked with Seven Metres Square to design a beautiful space that also took into account the dual use of loading dock at night. The materials are robust to deal with trades and garbage access.

The timber wall creates a classic, warm finish and leads the eye around the space to the lifts and directory. The mirrored wall within the lobby itself gives the optical illusion of a bigger space and the lighting levels were increased to make it a brighter and upgraded into the warmer spectrum. The renovation has increased the value of the building and has attracted new reputable tenants moving into the building.

Before: The previous foyer was not reflective of the professional businesses within the building or the heritage nature.
